Originally born in Leeds in the UK, I am a UK registered architect with 15 years practical experience and have been based in Shanghai since 2010.
After completing a degree in Architecture at the Leicester School of Architecture in the UK, I travelled through Australia and Japan before returning to the UK to complete my architectural training in 2002.
Initially working for William Saunders Partnership in Newark and Stephen George and Partners in Nottingham in the UK, I was invited to relocate to Shanghai in 2010 to represent Stephen George internationally in China.
I have experience in all areas of practice in both the UK and China, design lead, preparing fee proposals, client liaison, marketing and business development along with managing teams and the running and coordination of projects of various scales. This includes working on Project delivery from concept, detail and construction design through to contract management and on site quality supervision.
During my time in China, I have developed my professional experience whilst also working closely with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo in the role of external examiner ( 2011-2016). Since completing the maximum allowed term as an External examiner, I have worked as an external reviewer for all academic years and have presented at a number of conferences in China on Sustainable design
